Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards descended on Loyola Marymount University’s Conrad Hilton School of Business for the 2007 GSEA California Regionals on 24 April. الطالب العالمي منظم الجوائز على سلالة لويولا marymount الجامعة كونراد هيلتون كلية الاعمال التجارية لعام 2007 gsea كاليفورنيا regionals 24 نيسان / ابريل. LMU has hosted the GSEA for the past seven years - including seeing four GSEA Global Finals winners emerge from their region, so expectations were high for the day and for the competitors. The day was not without its controversy, as the judging panel of local distinguished entrepreneurs and CEOs was unable to decide a clear first place winner. اليوم الذي لا يخلو من الخلاف ، كما حكم على الفريق من أصحاب المشاريع المحلية المتميزة وسيوس كان غير قادر على اتخاذ قرار واضح الاولى الفاءزه. A heated discussion of the merits of each student entrepreneur’s presentation ensued, with judges torn in both directions and finding it very difficult to choose a winner. مناقشات ساخنه من مزايا كل طالب منظم العرض الذي قدمه تبعت ذلك ، مع القضاة التي مزقتها في كلا الاتجاهين وتجد من الصعب جدا لاختيار الفائز. Third Place went to Lucy Pereda, owner of Abba Detailing and Inland Empire Auto Body and Paint. المركز الثالث ذهب لوسي pereda ، مالك أبا بالتفصيل الامبراطوريه الداخلية والهيءه وطلاء السيارات. The Cal State-San Bernardino student was very close to the leaders in the judges’ scoring (all candidates scored well) and is determined to return to the GSEA next year and win the California Region. كال فان الدولة - سان برناردينو طالب كان قريبا جدا من القادة في القضاة التهديف (جميع المرشحين سجل جيد) ، وعاقدة العزم على العودة الى gsea السنة المقبلة والفوز في كاليفورنيا المنطقة. Sean Rad, Founder of شون راد ، مؤسس Orgoo also placed in the top group for the California Region. كما وضعت في صدارة المجموعة لمنطقة كاليفورنيا.

After the event, a celebration of entrepreneurship was hosted by LMU and its distinguished Conrad Hilton Chair in Entrepreneurship, بعد وقوع الحدث ، وروح المبادرة احتفال استضافته lmu ومكانتها المتميزة كونراد هيلتون الرئيس في مباشرة الاعمال الحرة ، “Grandpa” Fred Kiesner "الجد" فريد kiesner . We at GSEA would like to thank Grandpa Fred for all of his support of the GSEA program and of entrepreneurship in general - it is said that Kiesner has taught over 16,000 students in his tenure at LMU. ونحن في gsea ان اتوجه بالشكر الى الجد فريد لكل ما لديه من دعم للgsea البرنامج ومباشرة الاعمال الحرة فى العام - ومن قال ان kiesner علمها اكثر من 16000 طالبا في ولايته في lmu. Judging by the fact that former students had flown in from as far away as London, UK to share their experiences with Kiesner, it was clear that he has had an amazing impact. واستنادا الى حقيقة ان الطلاب السابقين قد طارت في الفترة من بعيدة مثل لندن ، المملكه المتحدة لتقاسم خبراتها مع kiesner ، كان من الواضح انه كان له تأثير مذهله. Thanks again Grandpa Fred! شكرا مرة اخرى الجد فريد!

Today the GSEA descended on beautiful Minneapolis, Minnesota for the GSEA Minnesota Regionals competition. اليوم gsea سلالة جميلة عن مينيابوليس ، مينيسوتا لgsea مينيسوتا regionals المنافسة. Hosted at the University of St. Thomas, this competition not only showcased student entrepreneurs from Minnesota, but also from nearby Wisconsin. استضافت في جامعة سانت توماس ، وهذا التنافس ليس فقط فضل طالب رجال الاعمال من ولاية مينيسوتا ، ولكن ايضا على مقربة من ويسكونسن. The four competitors came ready to present to impress the panel of judges and to try to take home some of the prizes - and more importantly a coveted spot at the GSEA Global Finals… المنافسين الاربعة جاء على استعداد لان تقدم لاقناع فريق القضاة ، والسعي الى اتخاذ بعض المنازل للجوائز - وهذا هو الأهم أ مطلوب بقعة في gsea العالمية نهائيات…

First place was awarded to Zach Vruwink of Zach’s Computers. حصل على جائزة المركز الاول لزاك زاك vruwink للحواسيب. Zach told the judges of his compelling story of opening his first retail storefront at the age of 15(!) with only $500 in savings. زاك ابلغ القضاة من بلدة اضطراريه قصة افتتاح اول التجزءه واجهة المخزن في سن 15 سنة (!) مع فقط 500 دولار في المدخرات. From there Zach has grown his retail operation into the medium six-figures in yearly revenues - at the age of nineteen. هناك من زاك نمت له عملية التجزءه في المتوسط ستة ارقام في الايرادات سنويا - في السادسه من عمرها تسعة عشر. Zach is facing the dual challenges of his freshman year of college and growing his company head on and has no fear of either. زاك المزدوج الذي يواجه التحديات من بلدة الجدد في السنة للكلية وتنامي شركته على رأس وليس له اي خوف من اي منهما. Congratulations Zach! تهاني زاك!

Second place went to Tyler Olson of HelpMeTy.com. المركز الثاني ذهب الى تايلر اولسون من helpmety.com. Tyler has created a unique business model in the crowded computer services sector. تايلر اوجد فريدة نموذج الاعمال التجارية المزدحمه في قطاع خدمات الحاسوب. Not only does HelpMeTy.com assist computer users with their troubles and challenges with technology, but also assist with home theatre installs, networking, and much more. لا يقتصر الأمر helpmety.com مساعدة مستخدمي الكمبيوتر مع المشاكل والتحديات مع التكنولوجيا ، ولكن ايضا للمساعدة فى تثبيت مسرح البيت ، والتواصل ، وأكثر من ذلك بكثير. Tyler’s cell phone managed to get about 15 calls and emails to it during the presentation, showing how busy his young company is. تايلر 'sالخليويه تمكنت من الحصول على حوالى 15 ويدعو اليها ورسائل البريد الالكتروني اثناء العرض ، والتي تبين مدى انشغال الشباب صاحب الشركة. One subject line read: “HELP!!” واحد سطر الموضوع كما يلي : "مساعدة!"!

Tyler is working on completing his business model which can be put into use anywhere in the world - opening up a huge realm of possibility for licensing or franching his business. تايلر هي التي تعمل على انجاز معاملاته النموذجيه التي يمكن ان توضع موضع الاستخدام في أي مكان في العالم - فتح الابواب الضخمه مجال لامكانيه الترخيص او franching معاملاته.

The day finished up with a presentation from Joe Keeley - 2003 GSEA Global Winner and alum of the University of St. Thomas. اليوم انتهت حتى مع عرض من جو keeley - 2003 gsea العالمية فائز والخريج من جامعة سانت توماس. Joe congratulated all of the winners and encouraged them to continue down the entrepreneurial path - stating that “Entrepreneurs are different… and our uniqueness contributes to our success”. جو من هنأت جميع الفائزين وشجعهم على الاستمرار في اقامة المشاريع اسفل الطريق - تنص على ان "اصحاب المشاريع المختلفة… ونحن تفرد يسهم في نجاحنا".

Monday saw the kickoff of the 2007 GSEA Regional Competitions with our first competition coming live from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas! الاثنين شهدت ضربة البداية لل2007 gsea الاقليمية المسابقات مع شركائنا في اول المنافسة القادمة من العيش المسيحي في جامعة تكساس في فورت وورث! The home of the Horned Frogs played host to four great student entrepreneurs competiting for prizes including one of two coveted slots at the GSEA Global Finals in Chicago, along with airfare and accommodations. المنزل من الضفادع مقرن استضافت اربعة العظيم الطلاب اصحاب المشاريع competiting لجوائز بما فيها واحدة من اثنين مطلوب الشقوق في gsea العالمية النهائيات في شيكاغو ، جنبا الى جنب مع ثمن السفر والاقامة.

While all four undergrad entrepreneurs that presented were fantastic, the judges were challenged with choosing the top two who would advance. وفي حين ان جميع رجال الاعمال ان اربعة الطالب الجامعي الى عرض رائع ، والقضاة الطعن مع اختيار اثنين من كبار الذين سوف تقدم. We had a fantastic judging panel that included Entrepreneurs’ Organization members from the EO Dallas and EO Houston chapters, as well as other local business leaders. كان لدينا فريق رائع ان الحكم شمل اصحاب المشاريع الاعضاء في المنظمه من الذخائر المتفجره والذخائر المتفجره دالاس هيوستن الفصول ، وكذلك غيره من قادة الاعمال التجارية المحلية. The race was close enough that out of four students - we had first, second and a tie for third! السباق قريبة بما فيه الكفايه ان من اصل اربعة طلاب - كنا الاولى والثانية والثالثة لادراك التعادل! A fantastic showing from all four. عرض رائع من كل أربعة.

Our first place winner of a $1000 cash prize and the expenses-paid trip to compete at the GSEA Global Finals was Tim Hamilton of ونحن أول من الفاءزه بمبلغ 1000 النقدية ونفقات الجاءزه اجرا رحلة الى التنافس في gsea العالمية النهائيات كان من تيم هاملتون Astonish Designs Astonish تصاميم !

Tim started his very well-tuned presentation by defining an entrepreneur in his own words. تيم بدأ حياته جيدا - ضبط العرض الذي قدمه في تعريف رجال الأعمال على حد قوله. Referencing resources such as Michael Gerber’s The E-Myth , Tim did a great job of showing the judges how he has been an entrepreneur his entire life. المراجع والموارد مثل مايكل جيربير 'sالالكترونيه اسطوره ، لم تيم رائع للقضاة تبين كيف انه كان منظم حياته كلها. From starting his company over a decade ago to his very busy Astonish Designs business he has now - Tim is truly one of Texas’ finest student entrepreneurs. ابتداء من شركته اكثر من عقد مضى الى بلدة جدا مشغول astonish تصاميم التجارية لديه الآن - تيم هي حقا واحدة من تكساس 'خيرة اصحاب المشاريع الطلابيه. Congrats Tim! Congrats تيم!

Second place went to the current TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year - Jeff Livney of ذهبت الى المركز الثاني الحالي tcu تكساس الشباب منظم من السنة - جيف livney لل Livney+Partners Livney + الشركاء .

Jeff’s presentation focused around the birth and growth of Livney+Partners - a small boutique marketing and branding firm.  One of Jeff’s major messages was that he learned a lot through the restructuring of his company - a major lesson being “It’s ok to put off making a dollar today when you’re investing to make five or ten dollars tomorrow.” جيف عرض مركزة حول ولادة ونمو livney + الشركاء - أ البوتيك الصغيرة التسويق والعلامات التجارية وطيد. احد جيف الرئيسية للرسائل غير انه تعلم كثيرا من خلال اعادة هيكلة شركته - ويتمثل احد الدروس الرئيسية التي يجري "انها' ق موافق على تأجيل اتخاذ الدولار اليوم عندما كنت الاستثمار لجعل خمسة او عشرة دولارات غدا ".

Austin Hoffman of اوستن هوفمان لل Coleto Collectibles Coleto collectibles and Michael McKenzie of ومايكل ماكنزي لل The McKenzie Group فان فريق ماكنزي tied for third place with their presentations.  Great job! تعادل على المركز الثالث مع عروضهم. رائع!

These and all of our GSEA competitors are true entrepreneurs - managing a full school courseload, a social life (however fragmented it may be!) and on top of that, owning, leading and growing a company and in many cases, managing their own staff.  Congratulations again to our four great competitors from Texas! هذه وجميع شركائنا في gsea المنافسين صحيح اصحاب المشاريع - ادارة كاملة المدرسة courseload ، والحياة الاجتماعية (مجزاه ولكن قد يكون!) وعلاوة على ذلك ، امتلاك ، ويفضي تزايد شركة وفي كثير من الحالات ، وادارة موظفيهم - تهانينا مرة اخرى لدينا اربعة منافسين كبيرة من تكساس!

Monday 16 April starts the official GSEA Regional Competition season, which will determine the competitors that will be going head to head at the GSEA Global Finals in Chicago, 1-3 November 2007 for the title of “Global Student Entrepreneur” and the massive grand prize package! الاثنين 16 نيسان / ابريل يبدا الرسمية gsea الاقليمية المنافسة الموسم ، الذي سيحدد ان المنافسين سيكون الذهاب الى رئيس رئيس في gsea العالمية النهائيات في شيكاغو ، 1-3 تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر 2007 للقب "منظم عالمي الطلابيه" والجاءزه الكبرى ضخمة حزمة!
