Winners Announced! The honored judges at the Omaha USA Regional Competition crowned a Global Finalist on Friday, 30 April 2010 at the EO Berkshire Hathaway Conference in Omaha, NE.  Six student finalists shared over $5,000 cash, $5,000 in donated business services, media exposure, the opportunity to advance to the Global Finals and all received complimentary tickets to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting.

First Place – Cole Stunkard – Small Business Management Major at the University of Nebraska, Omaha – Owner of Delta Real Estate Portfolio, LLC – www.DeltaREP.com – Delta REP was originally founded as a property management company designed specifically to suit the wants and needs of young professionals. The company has since expanded to a full service management, brokerage, and investment firm which provides property owners more options to maximize the value of their property. DeltaREP currently manages ten multi-suite (6+ bedroom) properties with over 60 tenants and is expanding its reach monthly.

Second Place – Zachary Vruwink – Political Science Major at the University Wisconsin, Stevens Point – Owner of ZAXX Technology Specialists – www.gozaxx.com – ZAXX Technology Specialists is the leading cellular, computers and technology services provider for greater central Wisconsin. Through unmatched expertise ZAXX connects businesses and consumers to the best technology.  ZAXX was founded in 2003 by Zach Vruwink who has grown the business to four (4) retail locations. Zach is also a participant in the EO Accelerator program.

Third Place – Bob Cariste – Computer Engineering Major at Washington University in St Louis – Owner of Wash-U-Wash – www.washuwash.com – Wash-U-Wash is a student owned and operated laundry service for Washington University in St. Louis students and faculty.  Alongside typical all inclusive laundry packages for students, Wash-U-Wash also offers a la carte laundry and dry cleaning services.

Fourth Place – Emil Motycka – Economics Major at the University of Colorado, Boulder – Owner of Motycka Enterprises, LLC – www.motyckalawns.com – Motycka Lawns is a customer service business that just happens to mow lawns! The company offers year-round property maintenance services for both commercial and residential customers, specializing in grounds (lawn, landscape, garden, tree & snow) and building (janitorial & restoration) management.

Fifth Place – Jim Gregory – Anthropology Major at Hanover College – Owner of Grandma Gee’s Soap, LLC – www.grandmagees.com – Grandma Gee’s Soap is the self-proclaimed ‘best’ soap on the planet. Grandma Gee’s supplies superior craftsmanship and quality in the handmade soap industry through the use of all-natural ingredients.

Sixth Place – Keith Fix – Marketing Major at the University of Nebraska, Omaha – Owner of Proven Powerful, Inc. – www.provenpowerful.com – Proven Powerful’s moto is ‘We inspire computing happiness by offering safe, affordable, expert virus removal directly over the internet.’ If a PC is infected with a virus, users can call the toll-free hotline or submit a request to the virtual office for a prompt response.
